Welding Specialist

Job Summary

We are looking for a Welding Specialist to establish confidence in weld quality and to ensure reliable performance in service. The tasks and responsibilities of welding coordination personnel involve in welding-related activities (e.g. planning, executing, supervising and weld inspection).  AWS CWI or ASME certification is desirable.
The position is based in Cuautitlan Izcalli, Mexico.
Tetra Pak is not sponsoring work visas or relocation for this position. 

What you will do

As a Welding Specialist you will: 

• Qualify and document the WPQ for each weld employee regarding what WPS they are qualified to.
• Qualify and monitor welders’ task and performance.  Have the authority to execute this and revoke welder’s qualification.
• Maintain and develop log of valid PQR and WPS.
• Develop local procedures necessary to fulfil global and local requirements.
• Propose and perform training.
• Decide and drive new welding equipment.
• Main point of contact related to question regarding welding quality.
• Develop local procedures necessary to fulfill global and local requirements.
• Participate in technical review.
• Procedure for inspection and testing after welding.

We believe you have

• Bachelor´s degree or a Technical post-secondary education.
• AWS CWI or ASME certification is desirable.
• Proficient in English and Spanish language.
• 3 years of experience in welding standards and weld procedure development. 
• Must have knowledge and experience working on TIG welding 
• Experience in contractor assembly, mechanical installation, sanitary, automotive. Or Oil and Gas industry.
• Hands On, used to lead quality inspections and fill records in systems.
