Job Summary


Liquid Food Solutions (LFS) Operations Engineering USA within Tetra Pak Processing Solutions & Equipment is looking for an innovative Process Engineer with a technical competence that allows you to create solutions adapted to different product types and customer needs. LFS develop and manufacture processing solutions for customers within the dairy, beverage, and prepared food industry all over the world. Centres of excellence are in Sweden, USA, China, India and Singapore. 
In this position you will get the opportunity to design and dimension process modules and lines in all food categories to fulfil customer orders. In the role as Process Engineer, you will have the possibility to follow the process from order intake to the delivering of the finished product. In Operations Izcalli we work with process solutions that are unique to every customer and product. Therefore, you will get variation as well as challenges in your daily work. You will have several process modules to manage simultaneously. Further you are familiar with all the steps in a customer project, from sales to commissioning and support. 
LFS is in the greater Mexico City area and designs and manufactures processing equipment primarily for North America including Mexico.
This position will be based in Cuautitlán Izcalli, Estado de Mexico, Mexico. 
This role requires some travelling inside and outside USA and Mexico, maximum 30 days a year. Depending on your background more travelling might be necessary at the beginning of your employment.

What you will do


As a Process Engineer you will:
 

  • Be responsible for the process design in customer orders throughout the whole order process.
  • Plan and co-ordinate customer orders, follow up and make corrective actions on deliveries.
  • Work with dimensioning of process equipment and purchase specifications.
  • Create documents and data for specific functions to other areas in the work process within our customer projects, such as automation descriptions, tests, and customer related documentation.
  • Occasionally work with internal sales support, customer claims, product maintenance and product development, trouble shooting, support and audits at customer sites. 
  • Further you may take part in commissioning with our customers in- and outside MX.
  • Work with the Preparation of P&ID, Process Description, Process Functional Diagram and Engineering Documents. 
  • Do Engineering Calculations and Utility Consumption Calculations.
  • Work on Specification of Equipment (tanks, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, modules, etc)
  • Ensure Engineering Solution is within the Project Budget
  • Work on Utilization of Tetra Pak’s Software and Engineering Tools
  • Lead and participate Technical Design Reviews, including Safety, Hygiene, Layout, and Process Solution
  • Prepare and issue Item List and other Relevant Specifications complete with Material Cost during pre-sales or project phase
  • Internal communication with Commercial Team, Project Manager, Automation Team, and Process Design team
  • Support Commercial team to prepare quotations when required

We believe you have

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Food or Biochemical engineering with knowledge of fluid dynamics, heat transfer and thermodynamics.
  • You must be fluent in both written and spoken English. 
  • 5-10 years of working experience.
  • Proficient using MS Office software.
  • Proficient in AutoCad.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Experience in SAP and basic automation skills is a plus.
  • Open minded, self-motivated, flexible, and stretching in competitive situations
