We are looking for an expert who will work independently in project and/or pre-project teams within Project Centers. You will design, implement, and validate complex automation solutions by providing technical support to our customers. You will lead and participate in automation projects that have a high component of innovation and are strongly oriented to comply with Tetra Pak and customer quality standards.
You will be traveling up to 50% of your time to our customer sites, mainly to our local customer sites, but eventually to the USA and LATAM as well.
This position will be based in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
Tetra Pak is not sponsoring visas or relocation for this position.
What you will do
As Automation Engineer you will:
- Be part of the engineering staff for project development and implementation.
- Interface with account managers and customers to assess customer requirements and create cost-effective quotations and solutions.
- Elaborate functional specifications for automation and electrical solutions.
- Specify and procure materials for project implementation.
- Design, develop, and test automation solutions, based on virtual environments, process control, user interface, database management, report generation, IT/OT networks, and electrical design.
- Execute startup and commissioning of systems/modules in conjunction with Process Engineers.
- Conduct automation training for customer personnel on the installed systems.
- Prepare and present new designs, automation, and electrical strategies.
We believe you have
- A Bachelor´s degree in Engineering, Industrial Automation, Electrical, Automation, Mechatronics, Software Development, or equivalent.
- Fluent English communication skills, both oral and written.
- Good knowledge in PLC (Rockwell) and SCADA (Rockwell) programming and commissioning.
- Experience in Project Management.
- Knowledge in Manufacturing Execution System (MES) virtualization, and industrial network integration.
- Working knowledge of international automation regulations as ISA-S88 and S95 preferred.
- Practical knowledge and growing understanding of automation engineering principles.
- Experience in engineering, commissioning, and servicing automation systems.
- Competent support and troubleshooting of automation solutions.
- Design skills and troubleshooting capability of electrical, up to 600 volts of AC power, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience deploying automation systems in processing areas.
- Technical skills and leadership, with the capacity to motivate others.
- Oral communication skills, both internally and with customers.
- Knowledge in MS Office, MS Project, AutoCAD and SAP/R3.
- The ability to work within a virtual team, with people from different cultures, share knowledge and collaborate with other teammates even virtually/remotely.
