Food Technology Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a Food Technology Specialist to take ownership of global, cross-category food technology responsibilities for coconut applications (cream, milk, and water), as well as supporting other plant-based products, and prepared foods.

In this role, you will build, share, and develop expertise in food processing, associated technologies, and business networks—both internally and externally, including with universities, academic partners, and at industry conferences. Your contributions will support our global strategy and ensure the delivery of high-quality food technology solutions.

You will provide food technology excellence to markets, project centers, and customers by developing and sharing knowledge, building strong industry networks, and representing Tetra Pak as a specialist in engagements with customers, suppliers, and authorities.

This is an individual contributor role based in Bangkok, Thailand, reporting to the CoE Manager – Prepared Food, located in Sweden.

What you will do

As our Food Technology Specialist, you will:

• Scout and analyze customer input to identify potential food applications and relevant technologies.
• Build and maintain strong internal and external networks, including customers, suppliers, and academic partners.
• Develop and share expertise in food technology by contributing to roadmaps, best practices, and strategic initiatives, while mentoring and supporting colleagues.
• Ensure the selection and application of appropriate technologies and solutions in projects and processes, aligned with best practices.
• Secure and assess processing knowledge and technological value through intellectual property rights (IPR).
• Help establish corporate standards and best practices, lead customer trials, and host customer visits.
• Lead customer trials at the Product Development Center (PDC) in Rayong (up to 50% of your time), supporting Business Stream (BS) Prepared Food, Plant-Based, and Beverage segments—primarily within Coconut, Soy, and Tea/Coffee applications.

We believe you have

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in food product development, food processing technologies, or R&D within the food industry. Experience within coconut applications (milk, cream and water) is preffered
• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of food processing technologies, formulation development, and ingredient functionality. Familiarity with plant-based and beverage product categories is highly desirable.
• Project Leadership: Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects, customer trials, and technology scouting initiatives. Experience working in a Product Development Center (PDC) or similar environment is preferred.
• Innovation & Strategy: Demonstrated ability to contribute to technology roadmaps, develop best practices, and support strategic initiatives.
• Communication & Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with internal teams, customers, suppliers, and academic partners.
• IPR & Standards: Understanding of intellectual property rights (IPR) and experience in setting corporate standards and evaluating technology value.
• Language Skills: Proficiency in English; Thai language skills are an advantage for local collaboration.
