Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced automation engineer, to be based in our Macro Automation Auckland office, focusing primarily on the dairy and beverage industries.
As an automation engineer you will be part of our fast-moving team delivering market leading automation solutions to our customers.
What you will do
As a senior automation engineer, you will:
- Work both independently and as part of a team to develop solutions for our customers
- Contribute to technical development and technical support
- Assist with quotation and design of automation projects
- Validate / review technical solutions
- Lead technical discussions with your peers, customers, and suppliers
- Coordinate, manage and implement the engineering, delivery and support of automation projects
- Travel to support the delivery of automation projects
- Act as an ambassador for Macro Automation & Tetra Pak
We believe you have
- A proven ability to deliver on automation projects, ideally five or more years’ experience. Food and beverage industry exposure is preferred
- A good understanding of automation systems and processes
- Leadership skills and a willingness to support and grow junior team members
- A university degree in engineering specializing in automation/software/mechatronics or electrical
- Skills in multiple PLC platforms (such as Rockwell / Schneider / Siemens)
- Skills in multiple HMI platforms (such as Intouch / System Platform / FTView / Ignition)
- Experience with automation software simulation / Factory Acceptance Testing
- Experience with commissioning automation solutions in a factory environment
- New Zealand or Australian residency with full working rights
- Full New Zealand driver’s license
