Job Summary
Tetra Pak Filtration Solutions is the global Centre of Expertise for membrane filtration, serving customers and projects worldwide from our locations in Aarhus, Denmark and Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, USA. As demand for dairy ingredients, protein concentration, whey valorization, and resource-efficient processing continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced industry expert to join our team.
We are looking for a passionate technologist who understands both the science and the industrial reality of membrane filtration. Someone who can turn complex process challenges into commercial solutions and directly influence the future development of liquid foods and ingredients by membrane technologies across the global food industry.
The Opportunity
As Senior Application Technologist, you will be a key member of our Centre of Expertise and one of Tetra Pak's leading technical specialists within dairy membrane filtration.
You will work closely with dairy producers, ingredient manufacturers, research institutions, membrane suppliers, commercial teams, and engineering specialists around the world to develop the next generation of membrane filtration solutions.
Your expertise will help customers unlock higher product value, improve sustainability, increase process efficiency, and create innovative dairy products and ingredients.
What you will do
- Lead technology and application development projects within milk, whey, and dairy ingredient processing.
- Drive innovation in membrane filtration technologies including ultrafiltration, microfiltration, nanofiltration, and reverse osmosis.
- Develop and validate new process concepts, applications, and product opportunities.
- Serve as a technical authority for membrane filtration across the Tetra Pak organization.
- Collaborate with customers globally to solve complex processing challenges and optimize production performance.
- Transform pilot and industrial-scale test results into commercial solutions and business opportunities.
- Develop and improve application models, process design guidelines, and technical documentation.
- Support sales, engineering, and project execution teams with advanced application expertise.
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and scientific developments to identify future opportunities.
- Mentor and share knowledge with colleagues across the organization.
We believe you have
- MSc or PhD in Dairy Technology, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience within dairy processing and membrane filtration.
- Strong practical experience with milk and whey processing applications.
- Deep understanding of membrane technologies and their industrial application.
- Experience working with dairy product e.g. protein concentration, fractionation, purification, and process optimization.
- Strong data analysis and experimental design capabilities.
- Experience translating technical findings into business value and customer solutions.
- Ability to influence technical decisions across functions and cultures.
- Fluent English, written and spoken.
