As an Automation Engineer Talent in Tetra Pak, you will execute on all automation related tasks associated with product development, design and implementation of software for production lines and equipment, commissioning and customer training within the ice cream industry. Your daily work and interaction with Future Talents in other Tetra Pak locations offers a unique opportunity to build network across disciplines and boundaries. Furthermore, the programme offers opportunities to rotate between different product areas and engineering disciplines or even between different sites. We expect that the right candidate will create a strong platform to develop further from and over time gain the capabilities to take up the challenge of becoming a future product specialist or technical leader. 

The position is based in Aarhus, Denmark.


Future Talent Programme – technical track is an 18 month trainee programme to develop your engineering skills and bring you leading technical knowledge in an accelerated way. You will be part of a truly global company with a dynamic, innovative mindset as well as strong roots in a technological environment.

From day 1 you will be delivering results as a true member of the team and hold a real position. You will together with your manager shape the content of your programme to fit with your background and interests to support your development journey. After the programme finishes you will have gained great experiences to help you continue your exciting career within Tetra Pak.

What You Will Do

As an Automation Engineer you will be involved in the following activities: 


  • Be responsible for developing and maintaining PLC based software for advanced ice cream processing equipment as well as handling equipment for ice cream including safety software, servo systems and motion control technology.
  • Work with HMI programming, design of user interfaces for machine control and line monitoring systems.
  • Visit customers sites to support with commissioning of new systems, control upgrades or troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with the Automation Specialists and take part in development projects for new products and technologies to enable digitalisation and industry 4.0 for our customers. 

Who You Are


  • You have finished recently or are about to finish this year your bachelor or master’s degree in electrical, automation or software engineering.
  • You are a problem solver with a strong personal drive and proactive mindset.
  • You are a true finisher and have the ability to work independently.
  • You are a team player with outstanding communication skills.
  • Experience from studies or work abroad is considered a merit.
  • You are fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Work proficiency in Danish is an advantage. 
  • Currently you live and are eligible to work in Denmark.
