Job Summary

 

With over 700 employees in 8 countries Business Unit Cheese and Powder Systems develops, delivers and facilitates a competitive portfolio of process solutions for the Food Industry in close cooperation with the Tetra Pak Cluster organizations. The BU CPS Cheese & Powder business stream is developing into a global organization. We are searching for an individual with a highly positive attitude and excellent professional competences.
In this position, you will prepare negotiations using thorough quotation analysis, technically and commercially, supported by technical teams. This opportunity offers unlimited career growth with an industry leader.
You will be required to travel to client sites and suppliers up to 20% of your time. 
The position is based at our Vernon Hills, Illinois office.

What you will do

 

As a Purchasing Project Supply Manager, you will:

 

  • Drive negotiation and contracting, considering Global contracts, bank guarantees, own specifications, and customer specifications in correct order of importance. 
  • Ensure supplier contract legal compliance with support from legal department.
  • Relationship management; ensure good relations with stakeholders, both externally and internally.
  • Drive supplier development activities (sourcing), together with product and supplier quality engineers.
  • Support Strategic Supply Management for maintaining and improving the supplier base in relation to quality, production capacity and cost reduction.
  • Procurement of Components for Evaporation and Dryer Projects, including all steps in Purchase to Payment Process.
  • As a team member of Evaporation and Drying projects ensure purchasing deliverables meet project objectives in time, cost, and quality, while maintaining good relationship with project team.
  • Weekly tracking of all opened Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders (communication with suppliers), ensuring on-time delivery with clear identification of project reference (e.g. tagging) to ensure optimal receiving process at project site.
  • Ensure Purchase Order accuracy, in line with project needs and perfect PO process, meaning smooth goods receipt and payment to supplier as per agreement.

 

We believe you have

 

  • Bachelor’s degree, with a technical affinity/background, either through education or through experience
  • Minimum 5+ years of purchasing experience gained within manufacturing environment
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Knowledge of ERP system e.g. SAP, Ariba
  • Have strong negotiation skills on large contract values, with complexity
  • You perform well under pressure and stress
  • You are dynamic and flexible with a pro-active approach and a high sense of responsibility towards each task
  • Have a positive attitude and a” high performance” position on your tasks and responsibilities
  • You are a team player, co-operative and open-minded
  • You are open to change and work with deadlines by keeping a high quality of work.
  • You have strong communicational & Presentation skills.
