Job Summary

Tetra Pak sustainability goals following United Nations Organisation recommendations aim to reduce our customers footprint ensuring carbon neutrality across value chain by 2050. To achieve this goal the company puts a high focus in enhancing machine performance, reduce consumption and waste.
Within Development & Technology (Research and Development), the Equipment Engineering department has full responsibility for all Tetra Pak packaging lines: it holds the ownership of technical specification for all the filling machines and downstream equipment from early technology innovation to product life-cycle activities. 

Within this organisation we are now proposing a Master Thesis work in order to explore the sustainability of our packaging lines. Scope is to set tools and baseline for the coming new machines and long term equipment consumption roadmap.

What you will do

 

The work will be articulated around these themes:

  • Understand current packaging lines consumption
  • Understand detailed machine performance
  • Develop consumption models
  • Identify high-consumption modules/technologies

To achieve these goals you will have to collaborate with different departments and expertise within the company. 

During this thesis your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Learn the background of filling machines architecture and behaviours and understand consumption measurements and tests
  • Develop consumption models and define the verification tests appropriate to correlate the simulation results
  • Implement methodology to rank various technologies from a sustainable point of view

We believe you have

 

  • Master’s degree in mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering.
  • Knowledge of mechanical/mechatronic, thermodynamics, energy management, data analysis, knowledge of measurement device, basic programming 
  • Pro-active, self-driven, autonomous, curious, collaboration skills
  • Fluent in English, both in written and spoken is mandatory
